Wimbledon at Newstead.

Hey Folks,

We’re running a Wimbledon-themed event at the club in a couple of weeks, and we’d love to have you attend.

Sunday, July 14th.

The Tennis

From 2pm - 4pm we’ll play some doubles.

All white dress code. You can come along as a doubles pair or just put your name down and we’ll sort out the teams on the day. If there’s enough interest we’ll use all four courts and do a relaxed round robin format.

The Hangs

Afterwards, Marti is opening the bar from 3 - 6pm for some Pimms (and regular bar service) and we’ll screen the women's final from the night before. If you can bring something small to share we can also have some light refreshments - Wimbledon inspired sweet or savoury snacks.

If you don’t feel like playing - you’re still very welcome to come and watch the tennis and hang out after.

It’s on again, the titanic tribal tussle between rival regions. It’s bigger than Ben Hur, or at least Ben Lomond. The third iteration of North v North-West takes place late November when the Coasters come to Launceston.

Tennis North clubs are urged to tell their players they are invited to self-nominate for the various divisions.

Nominations close October 22. Teams will be announced November 5.

Each player plays 2 doubles matches.
